‘Dons Drop Morning Match With Virginia

CINCINNATI – Ramei Jackson returned to her hometown on Saturday (Sept. 3) morning with 11 kills on a .348 hitting percentage, but the Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball team fell to Virginia 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-23).
Virginia pulled away in set one with an 8-1 run to go up 20-12. The second set saw Virginia go up 8-4. In the third, the Mastodons went up 12-4. Virginia rallied back to go up 20-19. The 'Dons took a 23-22 lead and forced a Virginia timeout. The Cavaliers scored the next three points to take the match
Molly Mirabelli added six kills. Rachael Crucis totaled 15 digs.
