
Hartley Hutton and Malone Receive Purdue Title IX Distinguished Service Awards

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Two members of the Purdue Fort Wayne Athletic Department recently received 2022 Title IX Distinguished Service Awards by Purdue University. Athletic Director Kelley Hartley Hutton and Assistant Athletic Director for Administration and Championships Ashley Malone were two of only 15 individuals across the Purdue University system to receive the award.
The honor recognizes individuals for their significant contributions to the advancement of gender equality in higher education, intercollegiate athletics and at Purdue University.
The awards ceremony was held on Tuesday, Feb. 28th.
Hartley Hutton routinely speaks and serves on panels focused on the critical importance of women in coaching and administration. Currently, she chairs the Horizon League Gender Equity committee and serves on the league Resource Committee. Hartley Hutton has participated in mentorship programs with NACDA I-AAA, WeCoach and Women Leaders In College Sports.
Malone is on Purdue Fort Wayne's Diversity Council and Community Engagement Action Planning Team. She is also a member of the DEI Athletic Committee. For the last two years Malone has organized a luncheon around National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
Only 15 people from across the Purdue University system receive the award each year.
Each of the Title IX Distinguished Service Award recipients demonstrated sustained accomplishments in one or more of the following areas:
* Maximizing institutional and/or societal resources to broaden access and opportunity to women in higher education.
* Expanding the range and quality of the female undergraduate or graduate student experience at Purdue.
* Contributing to the achievement of gender equity at all levels of the academic community.
* Contributing to the advancement of women in intercollegiate athletics.
* Providing local and/or national leadership on issues related to gender equity in education at all levels.
