Mastodon Media Services Announces Staff Updates

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne athletic media services team announced updates for staffing for the 2026-27 academic year.
Former Assistant Director Aaron Johnson has been promoted to the Assistant Athletic Director of Media Services and will lead the department, while Erin Miller fills the Assistant Director of Media Services role. Johnson will serve as primary media contact for men's basketball, women's volleyball and men's and women's golf. Miller will be the contact for men's and women's soccer, men's and women's track and field and cross country, women's basketball and men's volleyball. Cory Dunivan remains on staff as the Coordinator of Athletic Video & Technology, and Lauren Hertle joins the team as a Graduate Assistant for Creative Content.
Johnson has worked in the Mastodons' media services office for over 10 years. He started as a graduate assistant in 2016, then moved full time in 2019. Over his time with the Mastodons, Johnson has served as the primary contact for women's soccer, men's and women's volleyball, men's golf and women's golf, and women's basketball programs. He was the primary SID for five postseason appearances: men's golf (NCAA), women's volleyball (NIVC) and women's basketball (WNIT three times), while assisting in one CBI and three CIT appearances for the men's basketball program. Johnson has been recognized by College Sports Communicators on several occasions, picking up a National Story of the Year nod for his feature on Sydney Freeman in 2024. He was named a CSC 30 Under 30 recipient in 2024 and a CSC Convention Grant recipient in 2025. He was also instrumental in the office earning the American Volleyball Coaches Association's Grant Burger Media Award in 2021 for coverage of the 40th anniversary of the men's volleyball program. He also serves as the Sports Information Director for the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association. Johnson is a 2016 graduate of Indiana University and earned his master's degree from Purdue Fort Wayne in 2018.
Miller comes to Purdue Fort Wayne after spending the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons at NAIA member Saint Francis (Ind.). While just across Fort Wayne, Miller was the only Sports Information Director for SF's 20 sports. In her two years with the Cougars, Saint Francis had five nationally ranked teams with 20 postseason appearances. Prior to her time at Saint Francis, Miller was the Sports Information Director at NCAA Division III Manchester University for the Spartans' 19 sports. While working with Manchester, Miller was the primary media contact for three NCAA Division III men's basketball championships hosted at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. She assisted in a fourth while as a student in North Manchester. She played a year of college softball at MU before graduating in 2022. Miller is no stranger to the Mastodons, as she served in a part-time game day staff role since 2022.
Dunivan is in his fourth year with Purdue Fort Wayne in the Coordinator of Athletic Video & Technology. He filled the role after graduating from Huntington in 2022. His time at Purdue Fort Wayne has been highlighted by running the ESPN+ broadcasts for basketball contests against Notre Dame, Purdue and Maryland. Dunivan has served as the primary ESPN+ contact for Purdue Fort Wayne since joining the department. Just before going full time, Dunivan served as the timeout coordinator for the Mastodons vs. Oakland men's basketball game on ESPNU. Dunivan also earned awards from the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters and Broadcast Education Association while pursuing his Television Production degree at Huntington. In addition to his role with the Mastodons, Dunivan also works with the Tincaps, U.S. Power Soccer and U.S. Soccer Extended National Teams.
Hertle comes to Purdue Fort Wayne after spending the spring semester working at the Ohio Athletic Conference as a postgraduate intern following her graduation from Muskingum in 2025. She was a women's soccer student-athlete for the Muskies, where she earned Academic All-OAC honors. She was a member of Muskingum's Student-Athlete Advisory committee and served as one of MU's SAAC reps for the OAC. She attended the NCAA Student Athlete Leadership Forum in 2024 and earned a spot in the NCAA Division III College Sports Communicators Student Program. She attended the CSC National Convention each of the last two years. Hertle is also familiar with the Horizon League, as she worked for the HL at the 2026 Basketball Championships in Indianapolis.
