Penn State Takes Down Mastodon MVB in Outrigger Invitational

HONOLULU - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's volleyball team fell to No. 3 Penn State 25-15, 25-11, 25-16 on the final day (Saturday, March 11) of the Outrigger Invitational.
Saturday's match on the island was one-sided throughout. The Nittany Lions never trailed at any point in the match.
Penn State used one of the most efficient hitting performances of the season, as the Nittany Lions hit .507 while shutting the Mastodons down to .000.
Purdue Fort Wayne held close in the first set until a 5-0 PSU run to go up 16-10. The second and third sets were never in doubt.
Carlos Mercado had a team-high six kills and five digs. Frazier also had five digs.
Penn State's Cal Fisher had 15 kills with a .600 hitting clip.
Purdue Fort Wayne falls to 12-8 while Penn State improves to 17-2. The Mastodons will be back in action next Friday (March 17) at home against No. 14 Charleston.
