FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Fresh off its NCAA Regional appearance, the Purdue Fort Wayne men's golf team is turning its attention to the 2023-24 season. Head coach Billy King has announced the schedule for the fall of 2023.
The Mastodons will open the season at the EKU Intercollegiate on August 31-September 1 in Richmond, Kentucky. The Mastodons' last appearance in this event came in 2021, which saw Kasey Lilly finish sixth. After Eastern Kentucky's event, the 'Dons will go to the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational on September 11-12 in Huntington, West Virginia, an event in which the 'Dons played in 2022. To wrap up September, the Mastodons will compete in a pair of events hosted by Miami (Ohio): the Virtues Intercollegiate (Sept. 25-26) and the Indy (Sept. 29). The first event will be in Nashport, Ohio and the latter will be in Richmond, Indiana. The Indy will be an individual-only event.
In October, Purdue Fort Wayne will play in two events: The Tom Tontimonia Invitational (Oct. 2-3) and the North Alabama Intercollegiate (Oct. 16-17). The 'Dons have played in Cleveland State's Tom Tontimonia Invitational each of the last four times the event was held. The 'Dons took second at North Alabama's tournament in last season's edition of the event, with Hunter Mefford tying for third.
All the players on the 2023 Horizon League Championship lineup have eligibility remaining and can return for a chance to repeat for another championship. They will compete for a league title in the spring of 2024.
