Erin Woodson Selected as Horizon League Freshman of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS - The Horizon League announced on Monday (Jan. 29) that Purdue Fort Wayne's Erin Woodson was selected as the league's Freshman of the Week.
Woodson helped the Mastodons to a 2-0 record, with wins coming at Chicago State and against Northern Kentucky. She averaged 10 points and 3.5 rebounds per game during the course of the week. Woodson averaged 52.9 percent from the field and 50 percent from 3-point range. She finished the week with only one turnover during her 39 minutes on the court.
This is the third time this season that Woodson has been named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week. Woodson is the first 'Don in program history to receive Freshman of the Week three times. She earned the other honors on December 18 and 26. Woodson and Renna Schwieterman have brought home five of the 12 Freshman of the Week awards this season.
Woodson and the Mastodons are 14-8 and 7-4 in Horizon League play. The 'Dons are looking for their first 8-4 league start since the 2010-11 season. Purdue Fort Wayne looks ahead to Cleveland State on Wednesday (Jan. 31) at 7 p.m.
