
‘Dons Erase 15-Point Deficit in Victory Over Drexel

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Five Mastodons finished in double-digits in Purdue Fort Wayne's 87-81 victory over Drexel on Monday (Nov. 25) afternoon in the Sunshine Slam. The Mastodons erased a 15-point deficit in the process.
The 'Dons found themselves down 35-20 with 5:19 left in the first half. They finished the first half on a 15-2 run, boosted by a pair of 3-pointers by Chandler Cuthrell.
The second half started the same way the first half ended, with the 'Dons making plays on both ends of the court. All told from the 5:19 mark of the first half to the 13:22 mark of the second, the 'Dons went on a 33-10 run. The Mastodons' own 15-point lead came at 81-66 with two minutes left. Purdue Fort Wayne's first lead of the second half came on an Eric Mulder hoop with 15:23 left that put the 'Dons up 46-45.They would never trail from that point.
Rasheed Bello had a game-high 20 points while adding eight assists, three rebounds and two steals. 15 came in the second half as the 'Dons shot 64.5 percent (20-of-31) from the floor in the final 20 minutes.
Corey Hadnot II continued his solid start to his sophomore campaign by adding 15 points, 10 in the second half. Jalen Jackson totaled 13 points. Quinton Morton-Robertson made four 3-pointers. Eric Mulder came up just short of a double-double of 12 points and nine rebounds.
The 'Dons finished with a season-low five turnovers.
The Mastodons will face Radford on Tuesday (Nov. 26) at 6:30 p.m. in the Sunshine Slam Championship match.
Drexel was led by Cole Hargrove who had 19 points and 14 rebounds.
Purdue Fort Wayne improves to 4-2. Drexel falls to 4-3.
