‘Dons Cruise to 20-point Victory at East Texas A&M

COMMERCE, Texas – Purdue Fort Wayne forced 21 turnovers in a 77-57 win over East Texas A&M on Saturday (Nov. 30) in a road non-league game.
The Lions' only lead in the game came at 2-0. The 'Dons led 36-26 after 20 minutes. Maximus Nelson made three 3-pointers in the first 2:21 of the second half to all but end East Texas A&M's chances of a comeback.
The afternoon affair featured balanced scoring from the 'Dons. Jalen Jackson led the visitors with 16 points while adding six rebounds, three assists and two steals. Corey Hadnot II was 6-of-9 for 15 points with two assists and two steals. Nelson and Eric Mulder both had nine of their 14 points in the second half.
The Mastodons scored 20 points off the Lions' 21 turnovers. Purdue Fort Wayne turned it over only eight times.
Purdue Fort Wayne out-shot the Lions 50.9 percent (29-of-57) to 40.0 percent (20-of-50). Scooter Williams Jr. had a game-high 19 points for East Texas A&M.
The Lions fall to 1-7. Purdue Fort Wayne is now 5-3. The 'Dons open league play on Thursday (Dec. 5) at Detroit Mercy. It will be a 1 p.m. start at Calihan Hall.
