NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - On Thursday, December 19, Manchester announced the hiring of former Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer assistant coach Jamie Peters as the head coach of their women's soccer program.
"I would like to thank Kelley Hartley Hutton, Ashley Malone, and everyone who I crossed paths with at Purdue University Fort Wayne," Peters said. "Additionally, I want to offer my sincerest gratitude to my mentor, Jason Burr. Jason has given me such an amazing opportunity the past four seasons to develop both professionally and personally. I have learned so much from my time working with Jason and our entire staff. To my student-athletes, the time I have shared with you all will always be so rewarding. I am grateful for the journey and getting to know every single one of you and wish you all the best in everything you do. The strong foundation I have built here would not have been possible without everyone along the way including my parents, family, friends, college coach and mentor TJ Buchholz and my partner, Devan Rogers. I thank God for everything I have and that I am given the opportunity to serve him in what I do. Thank you all for helping me get to where I am."
Peters played three seasons at Toledo, including an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2017. After her playing career, she spent two years as an assistant coach at Muskingum University. Peters was hired as the Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer assistant coach prior to the 2021 season and has spent the last four seasons in that role.
"I have worked with Jamie now for almost four years and the growth I have seen in her has been incredible. She is a terrific hire for Manchester University women's soccer, and she is going to have a major impact on the growth of that program." Said Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer head coach Jason Burr. "Jamie is incredibly thoughtful, caring, loyal, and committed to the principles of person over player. All of us in the Mastodon Soccer family will miss Jamie, but we are so proud of her and can't wait to see the success she will bring to Manchester.".
During her tenure at Purdue Fort Wayne, she led the 'Dons to their best four-year winning percentage in program history. The Mastodons made three Horizon League tournaments in the four years under Peters, 2021 being the team's first conference tournament appearance since 2013. The 'Dons collected nine wins in both 2022 and 2024, which tie for second-most wins in a season in program history.
