COLUMBUS, Ohio - Purdue Fort Wayne men's volleyball took No. 7 Ohio State to five sets (25-9, 23-25, 29-31, 25-23, 15-9) on Tuesday night (Feb. 20).

After a rough opening set, the Mastodons responded by taking the next two 25-23 and 31-29. The Mastodons played their best defense in those two sets, holding Ohio State to .160 and .152 in the Mastodons' winning sets. The 'Dons combined for six blocks, 3.5 in set two and 2.5 more in set three.

Unfortunately for the Mastodons, in the sets that Ohio State won, the top-10 Buckeyes were incredibly efficient. Ohio State hit .722, .346 and .400 in sets one, four and five.

Mark Frazier and Jon Diedrich led the Mastodons with 13 kills each. Frazier added a match-high eight digs. Frazier and Kaden Fosdick had five blocks each.

2023 MIVA Player of the Year Jacob Pasteur had a match-high 17 kills.

Purdue Fort Wayne falls to 7-7, 1-4 in the MIVA. Ohio State improves to 11-3, 5-1. The Mastodons are back in action on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 23-24) when McKendree comes to town for two MIVA matches.
