FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne track and field teams are looking for some big performances at the Grand Valley State Big Meet on Friday (Feb. 9) and Saturday (Feb. 10) in Allendale, Michigan. Most of the 'Dons will be in action on Friday. Austin Hall, Nathan Mills and Jarred Neff will run the 3000 on Saturday. Harrison Niswander will run the 800 on Saturday. Riley Tate, Marissa Van De Weg, Ava Genovese and Madison King will run the DMR on Saturday.

With just one meet left before the Horizon League Indoor Championships, several Mastodons rank in the league's top five. Madison King ranks among the league's best in three different events with the top time in the 5000 meters (16:29.21), the second-best time in the 3000 meters (9:32.83), and the fourth-fastest mile (4:58.65). Riley Tate has the second-best mile just a few seconds ahead at 4:46.32. King and Tate are also part of the DMR team that ranks second in the league (12:17.95). Dylan Kirkwood has the best pentathlon point total of 3446, Lia Rivers ranks second in the shot put (13.57m), and Jai Reed is third in the 60 meters (7.65). Jesseca Hudson-Turpin is fourth in the 60 meter hurdles (8.69) and was part of the 4x400m relay team that holds the third-fastest time in the league (3:59.27). Ali Sparks is fourth in the shot put (13.17) and Louiza Kruiswijk has the fifth-best triple jump at 11.83m.
Men's Preview
Two of the Mastodon men hold the top times in the Horizon League: Ezra Lewellen ran a 6.74 60 meter and Jonas Morris ran a 47.95 400 meter. Lewellen also has the fifth-fastest 200 meter time of 21.91. He and Morris were also part of the 4x400 meter team that has the fourth-fastest time in the league of 3:25.35. Harrison Niswander is also in the league's top five in two events. He's second in the mile (4:09.16) and third in the 3000 meters (8:14.71) while also a part of the third-fastest DMR team with a time of 10:09.94. Brejion Peters has the second-best heptathlon total of 3293 and Zyler Johnson is fourth in the weight throw (16.69m).
