'Dons Win #HLMBB First Round Game Over Robert Morris 78-63

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - A big first half from the Purdue Fort Wayne men's basketball team led to a 78-63 victory over Robert Morris on Tuesday (March 5) in the opening round of the Barbasol Horizon League Basketball Championship.
Purdue Fort Wayne moves on to the quarterfinal of the Championship and will face No. 1 seed Oakland in Rochester, Michigan on Thursday (March 7) at 7 p.m.
Anthony Roberts got the party started in Fort Wayne, hammering down a windmill dunk to go up 8-5.
The Mastodons shot 59.4 percent from the floor in the first half. They had a 15-0 run in which they went 6-of-9 from the floor and held Robert Morris to 0-for-7. A few minutes later, the 'Dons had a 6-0 spurt that ballooned the lead to 24.
Coming out of halftime, the Colonials rattled off a 15-1 run helped shrink the Mastodon lead all the way down to five at 52-47.
RMU never got any closer than that.
The Colonials hung around until about the 5-minute mark, when the Mastodons mounted a 10-0 run sparked by Jalen Jackson. He laid in a shot in close, then Quinton Morton-Robertson drilled a 3-pointer before four more points from Jackson. Eric Mulder put the exclamation point on the contest with a put-back dunk with just under a minute to play.
Morton-Robertson finished with a team-high 17 points, followed closely by Jackson's 16. Roberts finished with 10 points. Mulder finished with 10 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, four of which were offensive boards. All nine Mastodons that played in the contest scored at least one basket.
Purdue Fort Wayne moves to 21-11. Robert Morris falls to 10-22.
