Niswander Sets One of Two School Records on Saturday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Harrison Niswander set a Purdue Fort Wayne record in the 1500 meters on Saturday (April 20) at the Gibson Invitational for the Mastodon men's track and field program.
Niswander set a new school record time of 3:52.46. He finished fifth in the event on Saturday just ahead of Jarred Neff who finished in eight place with a personal best time of 3:56.40. Nicholas Mills took 14th (3:58.40) and Austin Hall had a PR of 3:59.46.
The men's 4x100 team also set a school record. Jaylin Springer, Ezra Lewellen, Isaiah Smith, and Jonas Morris ran a time of 41.74. Lewellen and Morris also teamed up with Brent Donaldson and Kobe Milledge to take third in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:22.75.
Lewellen finished fifth in the 100m (10.57) one tenth of a second ahead of Smith, who ran a personal best 10.58. Morris was also fifth in the 400 meter with his season best time of 48.30. Milledge ran a season best as well in the 800 meters at 1:55.32.
In the field, Andrew Roman posted a season best mark in the pole vault at 4.65m and finished seventh. Brevin Miller threw a personal best in the discus of 45.55m to finish tenth.
The 'Dons took fourth with 61 points. Indiana State earned the team title thanks to 195 points.
The 'Dons will next compete for league titles at the Horizon League Championships, hosted by Oakland University May 3-5.
