
Men's Basketball to Play in Sunshine Slam in November

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's basketball program will participate in the 2024 Sunshine Slam, the event's organizers announced on Thursday (May 30).
The games will take place November 25-26 at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach. The Mastodons are familiar with the venue, playing in the 2022 CBI at the same arena. Tickets may be purchased in advance at TicketMaster.com or on the day of competition at the Ocean Center box office.
The field for the event consists of Clemson, Penn State, San Francisco and Fordham playing in the Beach bracket and Radford, Chicago State, Drexel and Purdue Fort Wayne competing in the Ocean bracket.
The format for the Sunshine Slam will consist of a pair of semifinal round games in each bracket on November 25 and a championship and consolation game in each bracket on November 26. Champions will be crowned for both the Beach and Ocean brackets as well as all-tournament teams being announced for each. Match-ups and schedules will be announced at a later date.
In the Sunshine Slam this past November, Florida State beat Colorado and UNLV to win their championship, while Stetson took down Milwaukee and Central Michigan to win their bracket.
The event is organized by the Gazelle Group.

Chicago State – Head Coach: Scott Spinelli (Northeast Conference)
Chicago State claimed the first postseason win in 2024 at the Ro CBI and will join the field in the 2024 Sunshine Slam, Scott Spinelli's first season in charge of the Cougars.
Drexel – Head Coach: Zach Spiker (Coastal Athletic Conference)
Spiker enters his ninth season with Drexel, coming off of his first 20-win season for the Dragons. Drexel finished second last season in the CAA.
Radford -- Head Coach: Darris Nichols (Big South Conference)
Nichols will coach his fourth season for Radford in 2024-25. The Highlanders won 21 games in Nichols' second season at the helm.
