Harrison Niswander Leads a Mastodon Top-Five Sweep

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's cross country team won the Mastodon Alumni Open on Friday (Sept. 20) evening as five 'Dons led the pack.
Harrison Niswander crossed the 8K finish line more than 30 seconds before company arrived, with a time of 24:59.7. Austin Hall was the next runner to complete the course, finishing in 25:30.1. Sam Dunnett (25:33.3), finished third in his first home meet of his career. The twins, Nicholas Mills (25:37.3) and Nathan Mills (25:48.6), rounded out the top five for both Purdue Fort Wayne and the Mastodon Alumni Open.
Two freshmen secured personal records at this first collegiate home meet. Boden Genovese was the sixth Mastodon to finish, placing eighth with a time personal record time of 26:19.6. Joshua Roper finished 36th with a PR of his own (28:43.9). Another freshman, Tyler Godwin, had his first home collegiate debut. Godwin took 14th (26:56.7).
Kobe Milledge earned 10th (26:25.7). Colten Gasson finished 16th (27:07.6) with his brother, Colin Gasson (27:12.3), finishing just a spot behind. Andrew Arnos placed 27th (27:56.4). Jackson Marshall earned 34th (28:33.9). Jack Mills placed 44th (29:10.1).
The Mastodon Alumni team was led by Alex Barton (27:38.4), who placed 24th. Draven Thompson earned 63rd (31:16.2). Kehinde Oladapo finished 66th (32:11.6). Cory Waldron earned 68th (33:23.7). Weston Miser finished 69th (33:38.3).
Purdue Fort Wayne took first place at home with 15 points. Trine finished in second (57) with St. Francis taking third (66). The Mastodon Alumni team finished with 117 points.
