Louiza Kruiswijk Breaks Second School Record at Brant Tolsma Invitational

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's track & field team, highlighted by Louiza Kruiswijk's performance in the triple jump, competed in the final day of the Brant Tolsma Invitational (Jan. 23-25), hosted by Liberty.
Kruiswijk broke her second school record on the season, this time in the triple jump. Her leap of 12.04 meters broke her own school record, yet again. This mark earned her third in the meet. Kruiswijk broke the program's long jump record in the Mastodon Opener (Dec. 7). Kaylee Rogaczewski claimed a 10th place finish in her first collegiate triple jump, her furthest attempt being 11.38 meters.
Lillian Hurd ran a personal record time of 57.28 in the 400 meters, placing seventh in the event. Sanayah Ruffin completed the event in 58.86, finishing 27th.
Marissa Van De Weg set a personal record in the 800 meters, crossing the finish line at 2:21.47 to place 20th.
Ali Sparks earned sixth place in shot put with a throw of 13.90 meters.
Jordan Yanders finished 12th in the 60 meter hurdles preliminaries, finishing with a time of 9.07.
Three Mastodons competed in the 60 meter dash at the event. Jai Reed was the first 'Don to cross the finish line (7.79), finishing in 19th overall. Freshman Harmony Johnson ran a 7.85 to place 26th. Aniya Young recorded a time of 7.97, earning 34th.
The Mastodons will visit South Bend for the Meyo Invitational (Jan. 31 - Feb. 1), hosted by Notre Dame.
