Mikale Stevenson Scores Career-High 29 in Win

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Purdue Fort Wayne made their final 13-of-16 3-point attempts in a 90-77 win over Chicago State on Tuesday (Nov. 25) evening. Six different Mastodons drained a shot from long range in the game.
The 13-of-16 performance came after the 'Dons missed their first nine attempts of the game. Mikale Stevenson broke the cold spell with a 3-pointer with 3:08 left in the first half. The 'Dons added three more form long range in the half's final 2:32 to take a 37-35 lead at the break.
Stevenson finished with a career-high 29 points on 11-of-17 shooting, including a career-best 5-of-8 from three with three steals and three assists. Corey Hadnot II proved why he's looked like one of the best scorers in the league in the first month of the season by adding 28 points on 11-of-12 shooting with four assists, four boards and three steals.
Chicago State held a lead for 11 minutes in the first half, but never really threatened in the second half. An 8-0 run, with six points by Stevenson, put the 'Dons up 48-39 with 16:46 left.
Marcus Tankersley led Chicago State with 18 points. The Cougars shot 48.3 percent (28-of-58) from the floor.
The 'Dons finished a blistering 60.4 percent (32-of-53) from the floor. It is the best the Mastodons have shot against a Division I opponent since shooting 66.7 percent at Oakland (Dec. 2, 2023).
Darius Duffy added seven points, five rebounds and three blocks.
The Mastodons move to 3-5. Chicago State falls to 0-7. The 'Dons host Holy Cross on Friday (Nov. 28) at 2 p.m. at the Gates Sports Center. Kids K-12 are free and select concession items will be $1.
