Purdue Fort Wayne Women's Basketball Accepts Postseason Bid to WNIT

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The best season in Purdue Fort Wayne women's basketball history will continue. The Mastodons have accepted an at-large bid to play in the Women's National Invitation Tournament.
The Mastodons will find out their opponent and location in the opening round tomorrow (Monday, March 17), when the WNIT announces the full bracket.
There are 22 teams that won 20 or more games this season in the field of 48 teams.
The tournament's opening round takes place on March 20-22 and runs through the championship game on April 5, which will be streamed on CBS Sports Network.
This is the Mastodons' second trip to the Postseason WNIT. It is the second year in a row and fourth overall that they have played in a postseason event. The 'Dons played in the WNIT last season and the WBI in 2011 and 2014.
Purdue Fort Wayne is 25-8 and finished as the Horizon League's regular season and championship runner-up. The Mastodons own the most wins in a season in program history.
