Brock Reschly Shoots Career-Best in Benbow Round 3

INDIANAPOLIS - Brock Reschly of the Purdue Fort Wayne men's golf team shot a career-best 67 in round three of the Don Benbow Butler Spring Invitational on Tuesday (April 1), leading to a 15th-place finish.
Reschly, a sophomore for the Mastodons, used five birdies in a seven-hole stretch on the back nine to highlight the best round of his career. After bogeying his first hole, he parred three in a row, then birdied hole 12. A birdie on 14 was sandwiched by two pars, then he rattled off three more birdies in a row to shoot 30 on the back nine. Reschly had one bogey over the next seven holes to move to 3-under for the day. He finished with a 72-72-67-211, moving up 15 spots in the final round to take 15th.
Cody Coleman shattered his previous 54-hole best, turning in a 67-74-73-214, beating his old mark by 10 shots. In round three, he got three birdies to fall. After four pars in his first five holes, Coleman birdied hole 12. Later on, he birdied 17 and two. He moved into 21st place, his best finish as a 'Don.
Three shots back of Coleman, Nick Bellush shot 72-74-71-217 for 39th place. Bellush started his day with seven pars in his first eight holes, then got a birdie on his ninth, the 341-yard 17th. He had an even front nine thinks to seven pars, a bogey on seven and a birdie on four.
Nick Holder shot 75-76-71-222 to take 68th place. He birdied his first hole of the day, then had three birdies in a four-hole stretch on the front nine. He was even on the front.
AJ Agnew shot 76-78-73-227 for 82nd place. He had a birdie on hole seven.
Julian Dugan (75-75-71-221, 65th), Jarred Bowser (77-76-74-227, 82nd) and Landon Smith (78-78-74-230, 93rd) played as individuals.
As a team, Purdue Fort Wayne finished sixth in the 13-team field with a team score of 864, finishing ahead of four Horizon League programs. Butler won the event with an 829.
The Mastodons will take the course again this weekend at the Hoosier Collegiate in Bloomington, Indiana.
