LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer team fell to Kentucky 6-0 on Thursday (Aug. 28).
The Wildcats owned the first half, taking a total of eight shots on goal and scoring three. Kentucky scored in the ninth minute on a penalty kick, again in the 18th minute and netted another in the 32nd.
Freshman Daisy Moody took a shot on goal to open the second half for the Mastodons' best chance in the match, but the attempt was stopped by the keeper.
Kentucky capped off the second half by scoring another three goals, the first coming just minutes after Moody's attempt. The Wildcats scored again in the 56th and 78th minutes of the match.
Purdue Fort Wayne returns home 0-3-1 and Kentucky moves to 5-0-0. The 'Dons return home for a three match homestand on Wednesday (Sept. 3), beginning with Indiana Tech.
