FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Shane Anderson scored in the 13^th minute off a free kick to lift the Purdue Fort Wayne men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Eastern Illinois on Friday (Aug. 29) afternoon at the Hefner Soccer Complex.

Anderson had two big chances to add to his day. Already up 1-0, he hit the crossbar on a shot in the 21^st minute. In the second half Anderson took a penalty kick, but saw it saved.

The 'Dons held a 10-1 edge in shots in the first 45 minutes. EIU earned three shots on goal in the second half. Sep Habibi stopped all three to earn his second consecutive shutout.

Eastern Illinois falls to 0-3. The Mastodons improve to 1-0-2. The 'Dons host Bradley on Sunday (Sept. 7) in a doubleheader at the Hefner Soccer Complex.
