Julian Dugan Shoots Under Par at Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational

MUNCIE, Ind. - Julian Dugan of the Purdue Fort Wayne men's golf team led the Mastodons on Saturday (Sept. 20), shooting under par in the first two rounds for seventh place.
The Mastodons are in seventh place as a team with a 3-over performance of 563. That is a top-10 mark in program history.
Dugan (67-68-135) had nothing worse than a bogey in either round with birdies on three, five, 14, 15 and 18 in round one. In the afternoon, he started with a birdie on seven, then had birdies later on nine, 12, 15 and one.
Brock Reschly shot 69-70-139, also without anything worse than a bogey. He birdied his opening hole, the 162-yard sixth, then found birdies on nine, 11, 14 and five before making his start on his second round. He started round two with 13 pars in his first 14 holes. His day was highlighted by an eagle on the 264-yard third hole and a birdie on the following 540-yard par-5. He is in 18th place with 18 holes to go.
Nick Holder turned in a 70-74-144 for 46th place. In round one, he had birdies on 11, 16, 17 and seven, the last of which came on the tail end of a stretch of 12 holes without a negative result. In the afternoon, the senior had two more birdies on three and 10.
Justin Hicks shot 71-75-146 nabbing 13 pars and two birdies on three and seven. In the afternoon round, the sophomore had birdies on eight, 15 and 17 before finishing his day with birdies on two and three and a par on four. Hicks is in 55th place.
Landon Smith also competed for the team score, shooting 74-74-148 for 74th place. He had his second round score taken. He birdied hole three in round one, and like Dugan and Reschly had nothing worse than a bogey. Later on, he birdied three, seven and 15.
Cody Coleman played as an individual, shooting 72-69-141 for 31st place.
The final round of the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational will fire off on Sunday morning (Sept. 21).
