
Mastodon T&F Celebrates Senior Day at Mastodon Invitational

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's track and field program hosted the Mastodon Invitational on Saturday (Jan. 17) and celebrated senior day prior to the meet.
The 'Dons honored 10 seniors, including: Hunter Crew, Sam Dunnett, Alex Evans, Colin Gasson, Colten Gasson, Troy Golden, Owen Kaufman, Brevin Miller, Jack Mills and Seth Mills.
Kaleb Tucker took first place with a personal record time of 8.24. Tucker ran the same time in both the preliminary round and the final, tying the school record time.
Josiah Bird won the weight throw with a personal record mark of 16.77 meters. Three other Mastodons' threw for personal records in the event: Kaufman (16.37m), Denton Jacobs (14.65m) and Tyler Bowman (12.79m). Max Parciak tossed 10.14 meters for his first collegiate mark.
Dunnett, taking first in the event, led three 'Dons to their first collegiate finish in the 3000 meters. Jack Strong and Marcus Ridge finished with times of 9:08.60 and 9:31.29 respectively.
Braydn Livingston won the 800 meters with a time of 1:56.23 for his first collegiate finish in the event. Kale Seymour also ran the 800 for the first time in his career, finishing in 2:02.04.
Noah Morris (6.95), Tucker (7.05), Jaylin Springer (7.03) and Tristen Newsome (7.15) all ran personal records in the 60 meter dash preliminary round.
Luca Merita set a long jump personal record, clearing 6.71 meters. Evans competed in the event for the first time in his career, setting a 5.90 meter mark.
Joshua Roper and Daniel Mullett completed their first collegiate mile times, finishing in 4:28.73 and 4:54.21 respectively.
Aaron Hoffer (52.53) and Gregory James (53.44) finished their first career 400 meter dash times.
Sawyer Ruminer set his first career pole vault mark at 1.85 meters.
Hoffer also finished his first 200 meter dash time of 24.17.
Evans also threw his first career shot put mark during the meet, tossing 10.65 meters.
The 'Dons will split up to compete at the Indianapolis Fairgrounds' Crossroads of America meet (Jan. 23-24) and the Notre Dame Invitational (Jan. 24).
