FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's soccer team picked up a key victory in Horizon League action on Saturday (Oct. 17) with a 2-1 win over Green Bay.

The match was very young when the Mastodons broke open the scoring. They dominated possession in the early moments and Christian Agyekum found the back of the net in the fifth minute. Max Titterington took a shot that the Green Bay keeper could not corral and Agyekum sent the rebound home.

Purdue Fort Wayne controlled the majority of the next hour of play. The Phoenix could not manage a shot on goal until the 77th minute. Meanwhile, the Mastodons took a 2-0 lead after Karsten Ternes converted a penalty kick in minute 65.

The latter half of the second half was much more controlled by the Phoenix, which led to them ultimately scoring their first and only goal of the game in the 84th minute.

Ternes ad Agyekum each had two of the Mastodons' six shots on goal. Titterington and Brandon Razo had the other two. Tegan Gumbs picked up the win between the sticks, picking up three saves.
