League-Leading Mastodons Host Youngstown State for Two #HLVB Matches

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball team (4-0 in Horizon League), will play host to the Youngstown State Penguins this weekend (Oct. 9-10) at the Gates Sports Center. Friday's match will be the Mastodons' annual Pink Out contest.

Know Your Foe
Youngstown State 5-9 with a 2-2 mark in Horizon League play. The Penguins split with IU Indy after falling to Robert Morris in the league opener, but got revenge over the Colonials in the rematch on Tuesday (Oct. 6). Kylie Surratt leads the team with 3.50 kills per set and a .197 hitting percentage. Kameron Blizniak and Ava Prince split the setting duties, leading the Penguins to a .200 hitting percentage.
Series History
The Mastodons have a 9-6 edge over Youngstown State in the series which dates back to 2001. Twelve of those meetings have come since the two have been in the Horizon League together, which is split evenly 6-6.
When Life Gives You Plemons
Mya Plemons has a .351 career hitting percentage, the second-best in program history and the best in the rally scoring era. Her .365 hitting percentage last season was the best for a season-long mark in the rally scoring era.

Riley Rosneck (Aug. 31, Oct. 5) and Mya Plemons (Sept. 28) have both earned a Horizon League Player of the Week award this season. The Mastodons are one of two schools (Wright State) to earn three weekly awards this season.

Riley Rosneck has 276 kills this season, which is the second-most in the nation. She is also nearing 1,000 kills for her career with 973.
B1G Busters
Purdue Fort Wayne beat Rutgers 3-2 on August 28, marking the first Mastodon victory over a Big Ten program since 1986 when they beat Ohio State.
Dig it Up!
Becky Barrett recorded the 1,000th dig of her Mastodon career at Bellarmine on August 29. She is up to 1,238 for her career.
