Men’s Golf Opens Spring Season With Strong Performance

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Purdue Fort Wayne men's golf team was scheduled to play two rounds of The Savannah Intercollegiate on Saturday (Feb. 21) but the Mastodons finished only one entire round at the event held at The Club at Savannah Harbor.

As a team, the Mastodons are +8, only behind +5 Queens and +6 Creighton. Creighton finished both rounds. Queens, like the Mastodons, will conclude round two on Sunday before starting round three.

The Mastodons shot +2 (290) in round one and sit at +6 in round two.

The event has 18 teams and 108 competitors.

Justin Hicks sits at second overall at -3. He shot three-under 69 in round one with three birdies. He is at an even 68 through 17 holes of round two with one to finish on Sunday.

Brock Reschly finished both rounds on Saturday. He shot 71-74-145 with five total birdies.

Nick Holder needs to complete just hole two of the second round. He shot 77 in the opening round is at +1 in round two.

One Mastodon who did finish both rounds was Julian Dugan. He shot 76-75-151. AJ Agnew also concluded both rounds, shooting 74-79-153.

Cody Coleman played as an individual. He shot 71 in round one. He will enter Sunday needing to finish the final holes of round two. He is at even part in round two. Nick Bellush also played as an individual. Bellush completed both rounds, 75-76-151.

Play will begin on Sunday at 8 a.m.
