Nick Holder Shoots 1-Under on Opening Day of Surf Club Invitational

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Purdue Fort Wayne men's golfer Nick Holder finished the first day (Monday, March 9) of the Surf Club Invitational at 1-under par.
The second round of the event was cut short due to darkness with about four holes to go. Holder shot a 2-under 69 in round one and was 1-over in round two. He started the tournament with a birdie on hole 12, then after a bogey on 13, moved back under par with a birdie on 14. He finished the back nine with three bogeys before a bogey-free front nine that featured four birdies. Holder is in 26th place.
Brock Reschly and Justin Hicks both shot 72 in round one. Reschly had birdies on 15 and one after starting on 14, eventually finishing at 1-over. After a double-bogey on one, Hicks worked his way back to under par with three birdies over the next nine holes. He birdied four, five and 10. The duo are both 2-over in round two, tied for 60th.
Julian Dugan shot 74 thanks to a birdie on the opening 12th and the fifth, paired with 11 pars. He is in 86th place.
Cody Coleman shot a 76, with his round highlighted by a birdie on hole five. Coleman also eagled hole one en route to a 2-under front nine in his second trip through. He is in 71st.
Nick Bellush and AJ Agnew competed as individuals, both turning in 74's in round one. They are both tied for 66th, one shot back of Reschly and Hicks.
As a team, the 'Dons are in 13th place at +8, 19 shots better than Northern Kentucky, the only other Horizon League team in attendance. Georgia State leads the pack at 19-under.
The conclusion of the second round and the third round will be played on Tuesday (March 10).
