Mastodons Host Western Michigan for Exhibition

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer team is set to host Western Michigan on Wednesday (Aug. 5) for an exhibition against the Broncos at 5 p.m.

Know Your Foe
Western Michigan finished 16-4-1 on the season last year and 10-1-1 in Mid-American Conference play. The Broncos return sophomore goalkeeper Reagan Sulaver, who was named MAC Freshman of the Year, and Meredith Vance, who was named to the MAC All-Tournament Team during their MAC Championship title run.

Series History
Western Michigan has won all five meetings against the Mastodons. The latest contest was in 2018 when the Broncos won 2-1 in Kalamazoo.

New Faces
The Mastodons added former goalkeeper Jordan Imes as an assistant coach and Josh Routte as associate head coach. Routte had previously served as the goalkeeper coach for Purdue Fort Wayne men's and women's programs for three seasons. The team also added six freshmen, Aimee Abraham, Reese Alexander, Dalia Sabet, Lexi Toporcer, Soraya Flading and Ellie Ulrich, along with three transfers, Maggie Marlin, Paige Radel and Elise Mayfield.

Honor Roll
16 Mastodon women's soccer players were named to the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll after the spring semester: Madelyn Bravata, Grace Dunham, Jenna Ellsworth, Morgan Gallagher, Emersyn Geik, Kailey Hansen, Hailey Hoskins, Maddy Kopala, Amanda Leonard, Cyann Retzloff, Maci Toporcer, Scarlett Webster, along with graduated Lauryn Brucchieri, Jordan Imes, Lauren Klusek and Chloe Mariotti.

Coming Up
The Mastodons will travel to Miami University (Ohio) for an exhibition on Saturday (Aug. 10) at 7 p.m.
