FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball will hit the road for the final time in the non-league slate this week with a trip to Illinois State for the Linda Herman Volleyball Classic.

Know Your Foes
• Lindenwood is 5-2 this season and is coming off a 3-0 loss at Illinois on Wednesday evening (Sept. 9). The Lions have already played one match against a Horizon League team, Northern Illinois, and won 3-0. Susanna Beretti leads the team with 3.16 kills per set.
• Western Illinois is 0-6 this season with losses to Missouri, Towson, Idaho, South Dakota State, Bradley and Northern Arizona. Kennedy Adair and Ashlee Markert are both averaging between 2.00 and 2.50 kills per set this season.
• Illinois State is a stout 5-1, picking up wins over NJIT, FDU, Central Michigan (x2), and Eastern Michigan. Jillian Ferrill is averaging 3.07 kills per set to lead the Redbirds, who averaged 14.0 kills per set as a team.

• While the Mastodon men have played Lindenwood many times in MIVA play, the women have met with the Lions just once in 2022. It was a 3-0 win for the 'Dons and the 100th win for head coach Steve Florio in his career.

Purdue Fort Wayne beat Rutgers 3-2 on August 28, marking the first Mastodon victory over a Big Ten program since 1986 when they beat Ohio State. The 'Dons' win over Rutgers was a reverse sweep and featured a career-high 27 kills from Trinity Rye.
