Mike Wolf Promoted to Associate Head Coach for Mastodon MBB

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Purdue Fort Wayne men's basketball head coach Jon Coffman announced that Mike Wolf has been elevated to Associate Head Coach - Director of Player Personnel.
"The retention of our staff has been amazing as you look across the Division I landscape, particularly at the mid-major level," Coffman said. "Our program's consistency is a credit to the Fort Wayne community! Fort Wayne has embraced our basketball program and has been such a special part of our unparalleled success. We're the winningest mid-major program in the state of Indiana over the past 13 years with 240 wins, and it's because we have had an elite group of assistant coaches and an amazing city pushing us forward daily. Our coaches take tremendous pride and ownership in our program and set the standard high for our players to follow their lead. I am so grateful for our staff's loyalty, consistency, hard work and passion."
Wolf started with the Mastodons in 2019-20, when he served as Director of Operations. He was promoted to Assistant Coach following his first year with the 'Dons. He was on the bench for the Mastodons' regular season title in 2021-22, in which the Mastodons set a program record with 10 Division I wins in a row. Wolf has assisted in two 20-win seasons, both of which resulted in postseason play in the CBI (2022) and CIT (2024). In his time with the Mastodons, they have totaled 119 wins and 11 All-League players, including four First Team All-League performers. Wolf has also been critical in Purdue Fort Wayne's recruiting efforts. Prior to his time in Fort Wayne, he was at Mount St. Mary's and Emory & Henry.
"Mike has been a tremendous asset to our program with his relationship building with our players, recruiting, on-court player development, game preparation, scouting and ability to find solutions in the rapidly transforming world of college basketball. He is a tremendously intelligent young coach that has added so much value to our program as we are now all operating as general managers, utilizing analytics and AI to make daily decisions, identifying new efficient solutions to the evolving Division I transitions and continuing to address how we can teach, coach and recruit at a higher level every day. He is a versatile coach who adds so much both on and off the court on a daily basis. He has been an extremely sought after assistant coach across the industry, and I am excited to give him a title that represents the value that he adds to our program."
Wolf and the Mastodons will open the season with an exhibition against Purdue on October 22 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
