2009-10 Season
Plackemeier had another solid season at guard for IPFW in 2009-10. Primarily defended the opponent's top scorer, Plackemeier averaged 8.6 points and 2.9 rebounds a game. He dished out a team-high 110 assists. His 3.5 assist per game averaged was fifth best in The Summit League. Plackemeier also led the team in steals with 40. His average of 1.3 a game was 10th best in the conference. His assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.5 was sixth in the league.
Plackemeier tossed in a season-high 19 points against Valparaiso (12/22). He also scored 18 at Oral Roberts (1/9) and 16 against IUPUI (12/31) Hit the game-winner with just two seconds left in IPFW's win at IUPUI (1/31).
Hit four 3-pointers on three occasions, vs. IUPUI (12/31), at Oral Roberts (1/9) and against Centenary (2/6). Pulled down a season-high eight rebounds vs. SIU Edwardsville (2/23). Handed out a season-high eight assists at Western Illinois (1/28). Had a career-high five steals at Southern Utah (2/13). He also blocked a pair of shots vs. North Dakota State (2/18).
2008-09 Season
Plackemeier saw action in every IPFW game in 2008-09. He started 25 of those 30 games. Averaged a career-high 7.7 points a game while hauling down 3.3 rebounds a contest. He also averaged 2.8 assists a game which ranked him tied for fifth overall in The Summit League. He averaged 41.8% from the floor and 44.9% from behind the arc which was good enough to tie him for third spot on the conference. He also shot a solid 80.3% from the foul line.
Plackemeier scored a career-high 22 points in IPFW's win over Oral Roberts Feb. 7. Had 12 point games four times in 08-09 (Nov. 22 vs. Eastern Illinois, Nov. 29 at Eastern Illinois, Dec. 28 at North Florida and Jan. 17 vs. Oakland). Was a perfect 3-3 from behind the arc vs. IUPUI on Jan. 24. Made a season-high six free throws at North Florida on Dec. 28 and against Oral Roberts at the Memorial Coliseum on Feb. 7. In the North Florida contest he was a perfect 6-6. Dished out a career-high nine assists vs. Eastern Illinois on Nov. 22. Had a season-high five steals at IUPUI on Feb. 19.
2007-08 Season
Zach Plackemeier played in all 31 of IPFW's games in the 2007-08 season as a true freshman. He got starts in 14 of those contests.
Plackemeier averaged 4.1 points and 1.5 rebounds a game.
He shot 39.3 percent from the floor (42-107) while hitting on 40.0 percent of his attempts from behind the 3-point line (24-60). Plackemeier was solid from the charity stripe, knocking down 18 of his 20 attempts (90.0%).
Plackemeier assisted on 36 Mastodon hoops, blocked a pair of shots, and had 11 steals during the year.
Tossed in a career-high 13 points at South Dakota State on Jan. 5. Also had double-digit games against Marygrove College on Dec. 1 and Manchester College on Nov. 21 (11 points each).
Attempted a career-high 10 shots at Wisconsin on Nov. 11. Made three 3-point shots on three occasions, vs. Manchester (11/21), Marygrove (12/1), and at South Dakota State (1/5). Made a career-high three free throws at North Dakota State on Jan 3.
Plackemeier grabbed a career-high six rebounds at Western Illinois on Jan 24. He dished out five assists against the Marygrove Mustangs on Dec. 1.
Before coming to IPFW
Plackemeier was a proven scoring threat before suiting up in Blue and White. At Duchesne High School in St. Charles, Missouri, Plackemeier averaged 23.1 points a game his junior season and topped that with a 24.5 average his senior season.
He garnered First Team All-State honors in that senior campaign along with a First Team All-GAC nod. In his junior year, he was named Second Team All-Metro.
Personal
Zach is the son of Dan and Dawn Plackemeier. He has two sisters, Brittany and Morgan. He is a Business Management major at IPFW.
