Connor Lawhead is entering 2020 in his fifth year as assistant coach and sixth year on staff with Purdue Fort Wayne.
At Purdue Fort Wayne, he works with position players in all aspects of the game. Hitting, defense, conditioning, base running, etc.
During the 2016 season, the Mastodons broke the school record for team fielding percentage at a .966 clip. Coach Lawhead extensively worked with infielders, outfielders, and catchers defensively.
Lawhead played at Fort Wayne for Coach Pierce in 2013 and 2014, after transferring from a successful two-year career at Walla Walla Community College. He was named First Team All East Region and Second Team All-NWAC relief pitcher in 2012.
After helping the 2014 Mastodons qualify for their first ever Summit League Tournament, he was the Volunteer Assistant Coach for the 2015 season.
Coach Lawhead is originally from Sammamish, Wash., and currently lives in Fort Wayne with his wife Victoria.
