
Four Picked to CSC Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Four Mastodons were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Baseball Team on Tuesday (June 3).
Justin Osterhouse put together a 3.81 cumulative grade point average in the business management major. He was a 2025 Horizon League All-Academic selection and an All-League Second Team pick. He led the Mastodons in most offensive categories: batting average (.328), on-base percentage (.453), slugging percentage (.636), hits (64), runs (51), RBIs (46), home runs (16) and total bases (124). His home run total ranked third in program history for a single season. In the Division I era, his slugging percentage tied for fourth in the Division I era. He earned two Horizon League Batter of the Week and one Pitcher of the Week honor in 2025. Osterhouse moves on to Academic All-America consideration.
Carson Caudill had a 3.51 GPA in the general studies program for the Mastodons. He threw 24.2 innings with 20 appearances in 2025. He had the save after three shutout innings vs Oakland (March 29). Caudill had eight appearances with no runs allowed.
Cole Newell put together a 3.94 GPA in the finance program. He made 20 appearances with one start in his first year as a Mastodon. Newell earned a Horizon League Pitcher of the Week honor on May 6, 2025 after tossing 4.0 shutout innings and getting the win at Oakland on May 3. He also picked up the win with three innings of work, one run allowed, at Michigan State (April 22).

Gavin Walters earned a 3.65 GPA in pursuit of his marketing degree. Walters tossed 41.0 innings with 15 appearances and 12 starts. He tossed two innings of shutout ball in a win at Michigan State. He also had 4.1 shutout innings vs. Youngstown State on April 27.
To earn CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must own a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, be a sophomore or above and meet certain athletic benchmarks.
