Jon Halliwill returns to IPFW as a volunteer coach for the men's soccer team.
A native of Fort Wayne, Halliwill owns over 20 years of coaching experience at the club and collegiate level.
He graduated from Bishop Luers High School in 1985, where he competed as the starting goalkeeper for the Knights, earning Indiana All-State Honors. He attended the University of Evansville and was a four-year starter. While at Evansville, he earned various honors, including Most Dedicated Player, Most Valuable Player, All Conference, All Region, and made four NCAA championship appearances in addition to several other honors.
Halliwill played professionally for the Atlanta Attack, Chicago Power and the Milwaukee Wave. He then coached at the collegiate level for the University of Evansville for the next several years.
Following Evansville, he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and became the owner of three soccer stores in Oklahoma and Missouri. He continued to coach in various capacities with the Tulsa Soccer Club. His teams were winners of the Oklahoma State Cup, as well as, Regional Finalists.
Jon and his family moved back to Fort Wayne in 2003, and he was hired as the Director of Goalkeeping for the newly-formed Fort Wayne Fever Academy for the next three seasons. While coaching the Fever Under 18 Boys Team, he led them to the State Cup Semi Finals and Finals for two years running.
He temporarily took a leave of absence in 2005 to concentrate on his career and family, and is now returning to the Mastodon family part-time to help in a new era.
