2010 Season
Named Second Team All-MIVA ... broke the IPFW single-match hitting percentage record, with 12 kills and no errors on 14 attacks against Lewis (Mar. 31) ... posted 15 kills against Carthage (Jan. 23) and tied that mark two weeks later against Lewis (Feb. 5) ... hit at a .727 average (9-11) in a three-set sweep of NJIT (Jan. 9) ... tallied three aces in a win over Rutgers-Newark (Jan. 29) ... had five service aces, a new career-high, against Ball State (Feb. 25) ... posted a solo block and eight assists against Loyola (Jan. 22) ... tallied a career-high in kills with 17 against Saint Francis (Feb. 19) ... had five outings with hitting percentages of .500 or greater ... honored for his performances in the classroom as well, being named to the 2010 MIVA All-Academic Team.
2009 Season
Third-highest totals on the team in attacks (435) and kills ... Led the team with 114 blocks in 93 sets (1.23 Blk/S) ... 21 service aces was the second-best tally on the squad ... best single-match kill total (14) came in a three-set win over Quincy (Apr. 3) ... hit at a .571 clip (10-of-14) at George Mason, for his best hitting percentage of the year ... carried a season hitting percentage of .336 (213-for-435).
2008 Season
Oliver Kook is the leading point scorer from a year ago ... Kook totaled 150 kills last season including a career high 12 on two occasions at George Mason on 3/29 and vs. Saint Francis (Apr. 11) ... He also had 10 kills at Loyola on (Apr. 18) in the season finale tournament match ... Kook had five or more kills on 17 occasions during the '08 season ... Attacked to a .351 success rate (second highest on last year's team with at least 25 kills ... Led returning players in blocks and block assists with nine and 78 respectively ... Was the second-best blocker only behind senior Josh Stewart (120) ... Attacked better than .400 on nine occasions, .500 on six occasions, and better than .600 on five occasions ... Arguably Kook's most efficient offensive match of his young career came when he went 9-13 (.692) at Lewis (Feb. 13) ... Also tallied at least one total block in each of 26 matches played, including recording at least one solo block on seven different occasions.
Before Coming to IPFW
Oliver Kook is a 2005 graduate of Gymnasium Heidberg ... his high school did not sponsor volleyball as an interscholastic sport so he picked up his experience playing club volleyball for both the Norderstedt and Oststeinbeker SV volleyball clubs, advancing from Germany's second division to the first ... Kook was named MVP at the state championship in Hamburg in 2004.
