Former Mastodon standout Courtney Nicley is in her first season as an assistant coach at IPFW.
Most recently Nicley was the head coach at Mid-Continent University in Mayfield, Kentucky. Prior to that Nicley had spent her two seasons after graduating from IPFW as an assistant coach at Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. She also worked as a patient care technician for a year and as an EMT in her hometown of Lebanon, Indiana.
Nicley was a four-year letterwinner as a player at IPFW and currently ranks 13th in the school record books for career points with 1,018. Her freshman season was IPFW’s first as a member of NCAA Division I.
She averaged a career-high 11.6 points per game as a junior in 2003-04, scoring 325 points, while dishing out 64 assists, pulling down a career-best 97 rebounds, and nabbing 39 steals from her guard position. Overall the Lebanon, Indiana native played in 106 games for the Blue and White, starting 92 of those while averaging 27.3 minutes per game.
At Western Boone High School, Nicley was All-County, All-Conference, and All-Metro North. She led her team in points, steals, rebounds, and shooting percentage during her senior year, and finished her high school career averaging 20 points per game.
Nicley is in charge of recruiting and will also have on-court and scouting responsibilities.
