Wayne Kreiger is an Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame coach after his induction in 2006 and joined the Mastodons as an assistant coach prior to the 2024-25 season.

Prior to joining the Mastodon staff, the Northeast Indiana coaching icon led the girls basketball program at Columbia City for 33 seasons, before a pair of three-year stints as the head coach at Canterbury and South Adams. He won the state title with Canterbury in 2013. He was the oldest coach in Indiana history (70 years, 5 months, 17 days) to win a state title.

Kreiger was the third-winningest coach in Indiana girls’ basketball (471 wins) at the time of his induction into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame and went on to win over 600 in his head coach career. He was an assistant coach for the Indiana All-Star Team and coach for the Jr. All Star Team. He also received the Claude Wolfe Coach of the Year Award from Manchester College in 2005.
