
IPFW Dominates Steeple Chase, 3000m at Florida A&M Relays

Tallahassee, FL-Track and field competed at the Florida A&M University Relays on Friday for the final meet of their spring break trip.
The 'Dons fared well with two first place finishes and four second place finishes.
Valerie Hardesty won the steeple chase with a 11:25.64 finish. Mary Ballinger was right on her heels, placing second at 11:30.41. The times were personal bests for both runners.
In the 3,000m run, the Martinez twins took the top two spots with Crystina finishing first at 10:38.21, followed by Crystal at 10:43.42.
In relay action, the distance medley relay team of Ballinger, Anina Gruber, Hardesty, and Beth Hoekstra took second with a time of 12:38.34. The 4x800 team placed second as well, with the team of Gruber, Hoekstra, Susan Odipo, and Ballinger setting a new school record at 9:54.80.
IPFW will return to the track on March 17 in Cinncinati, OH at the Early Bird Relays.
