
No. 9 IPFW Sweeps Rutgers-Newark

Fort Wayne, IN - The No. 9 IPFW Mastodons cruised to their 18th win of the season, with a 3-0 sweep of Rutgers-Newark, Friday night at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center.
The Mastodons topped the Scarlet Raiders by the scores of 30-23, 30-18, and 30-25.
Head coach Arnie Ball was able to go deep into his bench tonight. All 15 'Dons that dressed saw action.
IPFW was led by junior opposite Brock Ullrich with 10 kills. He was the only Mastodon to hit for double-figures.
Senior setter Colin Lundeen dished out 43 assists and registered nine block assists.
The 'Dons hit an impressive .432 in the match, led by the middle combination of Josh Stewart and Vitor Oliveira who combined for a perfect nine for nine evening.
Rutgers-Newark senior Eric Honsberger led all scorer's with 15 kills. He also had three service aces.
With the win, IPFW improves to 18-7. They will complete MIVA regular season play with a match at Quincy, on Saturday night.
The Mastodons will host Mercyhurst, in a MIVA Quarterfinal playoff match, on Saturday April 21 at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center. First serve will be 7:00pm.
