
Mastodons Cruise to Season Finale Win

Quincy, IL - Going into next weekend's Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association playoffs, IPFW is playing its best volleyball of the year.
IPFW finished the MIVA regular season tonight, in Quincy, Illinois, with a 3-0 win over the Hawks.
The 9th ranked Mastodons cruised by the scores of 30-17, 30-27, and 30-22.
It was the sixth straight win for Head Coach Arnie Ball's squad.
Junior opposite Jason Yhost continued his outstanding play with a match-high 15 kills against the Hawks. Yhost has been featuring an all-around game since being inserted into the starting lineup. Tonight, to go along with his kills, he had six digs, three solo blocks, and four block assists.
Junior All-America outside hitter C.J. Macias put down 11 balls.
The Mastodons (19-7, 9-3 MIVA) out-blocked Quincy 13.5 to 4.5.
Quincy (5-25, 2-10 MIVA) was led by Peter Coley with eight kills.
The 'Dons wrapped up the MIVA campaign with a second place finish. They will host Mercyhurst College in an opening round Quarterfinal match next Saturday night.
