Track Wrap Up Season at Butler Twilight Meet

Indianapolis, IN-IPFW traveled to Indianapolis over the weekend to compete in the Butler "Stan Lyons" Twilight Meet. The 'Dons cracked two more school marks during the meet.
For the second consecutive meet, the IPFW 4x400 relay record was broken. The new school record was set by a team consisting of Marta Flippen, Brooke Newman, Kaitlin Shifley, and Nan Moore. The team ran to a 4th place finish in a time of 4:04.07.
Later, under the lights, Mary Ballinger broke the 3000m Steeplechase record of 11:02.95, set by Lauren Simpson in 2005. Mary placed 2nd in a great time of 10:59.51.
The 'Dons are excited about their success this past season, but are intent on looking forward to the upcoming year. Coach Fruchey stated, "As a whole, the group had a great year. Many records were broken and with only two seniors on the roster, next year looks very promising. The women are extremely excited about competing in the Mid-Con next year."
