
'Dons Fall as Detroit Titans up Defense

Detroit, MI -- The Titans of Detroit showed no mercy Wednesday night as they shut out the visiting Mastodons 2-0 in IPFW's final non-conference contest of the season.
IPFW (2-11-2) couldn't find the net against Detroit (4-9-1) which won its second straight victory.
The 'Dons were led offensively by sophomore Liridon Qafleshi as he kicked two shots and two shots on goal on the evening. Colin Helmrich, Max Touloute, and Aaron Tulloch all took two shots for IPFW.
The match was scoreless until the 27th minute when UDM's Adam Philp connected for his first of two goals on the night assisted by Sam Seppo. Five minutes later, Helmrich took his lone shot on goal which was saved by UDM's Bryan Kloss.
IPFW got offensive 11 minutes into the second half taking three straight shots. Touloute and Tulloch took shots in the 57th minute that were consecutively blocked before Chris Dolinski had the goal in his sights only for the ball to be kept by Kloss.
Philp attacked again in the 83rd minute. This time assisted by Jon Bowman making the score 2-0.
IPFW's Helmrich and Qafleshi both took final shots before the match concluded. IPFW's keeper Michael Knitter kept four saves as did Detroit's Kloss.
The Mastodons next visit Summit League foe Western Illinois on November 1, before hosting senior night on November 7 at 7:00 PM for seniors Knitter and Tulloch.
