
Lotman Powers No. 3 Long Beach State Past IPFW

Long Beach, CA - Paul Lotman had a match-high 22 kills as No. 3 Long Beach State topped IPFW, 3-1 on the opening night of the Active Ankle/Long Beach Guesthouse Classic.
IPFW, which entered tonight's match out of the Top 15 for the first time in over two years, fell to the 49ers by the scores of 30-26, 30-22, 26-30, and 30-23.
Lotman added five block assists and two services aces to his stat line for 26.5 points.
IPFW senior outside hitter C.J. Macias led the 'Dons with 12 kills. He also had eight digs and four service aces.
Senior middle Josh Stewart had 10 kills and four block assists. He hit .611 in the match.
Senior opposite Jason Yhost also posted double-digit kills with 10.
LBSU outhit IPFW .446 to .223 and outblocked the 'Dons 10.5 to 6.5
With the loss, IPFW falls to 8-8. They will face California Baptist on Saturday night on the final day of the Active Ankle Classic.
