
Mastodons Get Final Tune-up Before Conferences

Terre Haute, IN - A trio of IPFW field event athletes used the weekend as a final tune-up for the Summit League Championship in two weeks.
Whitney Lane and Jessica Miller tied for the top finishes for the Mastodons, as all three athletes competed in two events overall.
Lane took seventh in the triple jump, leaping to a distance of 10.50 meters (34-feet, 5.50-inches), while placing 15th in the high jump with a height of 1.40 meters (4-7).
Miller's throw of 108-4 in the javelin also placed her seventh in the field, while her toss of 116-1 in the discus placed 11th in the field.
Laura Williams, the third IPFW competitor in the meet, placed 13th in her two events, the shot put (10.19 meters/33-5.25) and the javelin (26.73/87-8).
The Mastodons next take to the track on Thursday, May 14, when they compete in the Summit League Championships, hosted by Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah.
