Fort Wayne, IN - Behind a near-triple-double from junior Stephanie Rosado, IPFW ran away from the Warriors of Indiana Tech on Tuesday evening by a 104-60 final score at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center.
The 104 points are the first time the 'Dons have eclipsed the century mark since scoring 102 against Morehead State on January 5, 2004.
The same day she was named the Summit League Player of the Week for the second time in her career, Rosado scored a career-high 31 points, tied a career-high by pulling down 13 rebounds, and set a new school record with eight blocked shots. The junior hit 12-of-17 shots from the field and 7-of-8 from the charity stripe.
Four others reached double-figure scoring, with Anne Boese scoring a season-high 16 points, Chelsey Jackson scoring 13, and Kayla Drake chipping in 10. Every Mastodon in uniform scored from the free throw line, as IPFW hit 30-of-42 free throws in the contest.
Beside Rosado's 13 rebounds, Amanda Hyde pulled down a career-high six rebounds, as IPFW out-rebounded the Warriors 45-to-42. Drake and Erin Murphy each dished out five assists, as 21-of-33 field goals were assisted in the game. Drake grabbed five steals, as Rosado and Sydney Weinert had eight and three blocks, respectively.
The Mastodons led wire-to-wire in the game, scoring the first eight points of the contest, the first six coming from Rosado. The feisty Indiana Tech squad would not go away, closing the gap to as few as five at 23-18 following an Amanda Tipton lay-in with just under eight minutes left in the opening period.
IPFW proceeded to close the half on a 21-7 run, and used that momentum to fuel a 24-4 run early in the second half as the Mastodons ran away in the 44-point IPFW win.
Yasmine Coleman led the Warriors with 15 points, as Amanda Tipton and Brittnay Jones each scored 10. Coleman grabbed a team-best eight rebounds, with Ebony Robinson dishing out two assists to lead the team.
IPFW made 33-of-61 shots (54.1 percent) in the game, while making 44.4 percent (8-of-18) from long range. Indiana Tech was held to 29.2 percent (21-of-72) shooting from the field, and just 3-of-15 (20 percent) from long range.
The Mastodons return to action on Monday, November 29, when the squad hosts the Louisville Cardinals at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center, with tip-off against the BIG EAST foe scheduled for 7:00 PM.
