
Trojans Power to 12-0 Win Over IPFW

Little Rock, AR - The University of Arkansas Little Rock Trojans used a six run fourth inning to slug past IPFW, 12-0 on Friday night at Gary Hogan Field.
The Trojans (8-2) got to IPFW starter Samuel Walker in the fourth, putting up that six-spot on four hits and an error. One of the big blows of the inning was a two-run single to center field by third baseman Casey McCollum. UALR also tallied on a suicide squeeze and scored three on a bases loaded error.
The Trojans pounded out 13 hits in the win.
IPFW got just four hits in the contest off of UALR pitching.
Walker took the loss (0-2). He pitched 3.1 innings, giving up seven run, but just four were earned. He struck out four and walked one.
Two Trojan pitchers combined for the shutout. Starter Adam Champion worked 7.2 innings for his second win of the year (2-0), allowing just four hits. He fanned nine Mastodons while walking just one.
Reliever Sean Potter tossed the last inning and a third, striking out three.
The Mastodons (0-7) will look for their first win of the season in Game 2 of the series on Saturday afternoon.
