FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW Mastodon volleyball team hits the road for its final road trip of the 2011 regular season, facing off against the Kangaroos of UMKC, who have won each of its last four conference matches, after dropping 10 in a row to open the season.

SCOUTING THE KANGAROOS...
UMKC comes into the weekend as one of the hottest teams in the league, having won its last four conference matches, after starting the year 0-10 in league play.
Five players, led by Kelsey Knoche have reached the 100-kill plateau. Knoche has 266 while Emily Lucas (218), Elizabeth Beck (214), Christiana McQuin (130), and Chloe Jarema (116) are also among that select group. Ella Meier has dished out 638 assists to lead the team, while also serving up 21 aces, tied with Nicole Kerkman for best on the squad.
Defensively Kerkman has 472 digs, nearly 200 more than Meier (298) and Knoche (278). Brittany Fossier averages a team-best 1.07 blocks per set, while McQuin leads in total blocks with 85.

• Megan Steenhuysen and Tessa McGill were named the Summit League Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week on October 24
• Junior libero Tessa McGill has recorded double-figure digs in each of her last 33 games dating back to last season, the second longest such streak in program history which gives her two of the three longest such streaks
• Tessa McGill was named to the Collegiate Volleyball.com National Top Performer List on October 18
• Emily Spencer has 17 double-doubles in her 25 matches at IPFW, a freshman record, while Megan Steenhuysen has picked up six this season, giving her 33 in her career, tied for the eighth most over a career in program history
• Against South Dakota on October 7, IPFW head coach Kelley Hartley Hutton picked up her 400th career coaching victory
• Tessa McGill has climbed into 12th in Summit League history in career digs, now with 1,466
• IPFW junior libero Tessa McGill was named the Summit League Defensive Player of the Week on September 12, the fourth time in her career she has earned the honor
• Freshman outside hitter Kendall Wienkes tied the IPFW single-match three-set record with seven service aces against the Cowgirls of Wyoming
• With 33 digs against Oral Roberts on October 29, Tessa McGill now has ten 30+ dig efforts in her career at IPFW.
• Emily Spencer recorded double-figure kills in each of her first 24 matches this season, the longest streak by a player
to open her IPFW career in program history, passing the former mark of nine held by IPFW career kill leader Fabiana Souza.
• McGill became the program's 14th member of the 1,000-dig club against Milwaukee, and she reached 1,000 career digs in just 69 matches, the quickest to the milestone of any player in program history
