BROOKINGS, S.D. - The three-time Summit League Tournament Champion South Dakota State Jackrabbits made 11 three-point baskets, and led wire-to-wire on New Year's Eve, topping the IPFW Mastodons 81-58 in the 2011 finale.
The loss evens IPFW's Summit League record at 2-2, while falling to 4-10 on the year. South Dakota State, in sole possession of first place in the league standings, improves to 4-0, and 9-6 overall.
Anne Boese scored a team-high 13 points, making 3-of-10 shots from long range. Her three trifectas gives the senior 261 for her career, one behind Brenna Doty (262; 1994-97) of Buffalo for the all-time Summit League record for three-point baskets made in a career.

The Jackrabbits responded with a 14-3 run to push ahead to a 17-point advantage, which the Mastodons cut into by one by halftime, trailing 46-30 at the break.
A Boese three-pointer with 8:24 left in the game cut the deficit to single digits at 60-51; however, the 'Jacks once again put together a run, this one 18-2 to pull away late, securing the 81-58 calendar year-ending victory.
SDSU's Jill Young scored a game-high 18 points, including making six of 11 three-point baskets, as the Jackrabbit senior now stands tied for third in the all-time Summit League three-point make standings, four behind Boese, as the two will battle all season for the career record.
