OMAHA, Neb. - The IPFW Mastodons will face off for the second time this season against future Summit League opponent Nebraska Omaha, this time as the visitors, in an 8:00 p.m. tip-off in Nebraska.

SCOUTING THE MAVERICKS
Nebraska Omaha comes into Saturday's game with a 4-6 overall record; however, three of the team's four wins have come against teams outside of NCAA Division I, with the lone Division I win coming in a 77-72 win at Northern Illinois University.
UNO is in its first season as a permanent NCAA Division I member this season, and will join the Summit League for the 2012-13 season.
The Mavericks are led by Mitch Albers who averages 19.2 points per game, with John Karhoff scoring 12.6 per contest. Alex Welhouse averages 9.2 points and a team-high 6.8 rebounds per contest, while Albers also leads the team in assists with 31.
LAST TIME OUT
Leading by one with 2:09 to play in the game, Frank Gaines scored six straight IPFW points on a three-pointer from the left wing and an old-fashioned three-point play, spearheading a 10-2 game-ending Mastodon run, as the Blue and White scored the game's final seven points in an 85-76 victory over in-state rival Valparaiso on Wednesday (December 7) evening.
IPFW picked up its third win in the last four games against the Crusaders in front of 1,550 loud Mastodon fans at the Memorial Coliseum, improving the IPFW record to 4-3 on the year, while Valparaiso falls to 6-3.
Frank Gaines scored a game-high 24 points, while Trey McCorkle added 16, John Peckinpaugh topped his career-high for the second straight game with 13, as Jonny Marlin also scored a career-high 10 points. Marlin dished out seven assists, while Gaines pulled down seven board to lead the team.
QUICK HITTERS
• Frank Gaines currently sits first in the Summit League and sixth in NCAA Division I in scoring, averaging 23.4 points per game.
• After totaling one double-double over his first three seasons, IPFW senior Trey McCorkle has picked up two in the first seven games of the 2011-12 season.
• IPFW head coach Tony Jasick is 4-3 in his first season as head coach of the Mastodons
• Gaines has reached double-figure scoring in each of his last 19 games dating back to last season, and has scored 20 or more in eight of his last nine.
• Since being held to four points on January 20 at North Dakota State, Gaines has averaged 20.4 points per game, totaling 19 total contests
• IPFW is out-rebounding its opponents by an average of 7.0 rebounds per game
