IPFW Looks to Extend Home Win Streak Saturday vs. Oakland

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - IPFW puts its two-game Summit League win streak on the line on Saturday, January 14 when the Mastodons (6-10, 4-2 Summit League) take on the Oakland Grizzlies at 4:30 p.m. at the Memorial Coliseum.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN GRIZZLIES
Oakland travels to Fort Wayne in search of its third straight win, while also looking to snap an IPFW two-game streak in the all-time series.
In the team's most recent game, a 75-71 victory over Western Illinois, Sharise Calhoun scored a game-high 26 points, as Summit Leauge Player of the Week Bethany Watterworth had 17 points and three rebounds. Brittany Carnago led the team with four assists and six blocks, while Victoria Lipscomb and Elizabeth Hamlet each had two steals.
Watterworth is the team leader, averaging 18.7 points per game on the year, and is the only Grizzly player to average in double-figures, although two other active players, Brittany Carnago (8.5 ppg) and Sharise Calhoun (8.4 ppg) are just off of the double-figure pace.
Lipscomb is the rebounding leader among the team's active players (rebounding leader Zakiya Minifee suffered a season-ending injury against IUPUI a week ago), pulling down 6.3 boards per game, while center Carnago has a team-high 38 assists and 49 blocked shots.
LAST TIME OUT
The IPFW Mastodons completed the weekend sweep on Monday night with a 59-50 win over the IUPUI Jaguars, as three players reached double-figure scoring for the 'Dons.
Stephanie Rosado led IPFW with 15 points, making 7-of-15 shots from the field, while Sarah Haluska scored a season-high 12 points, as Erin Murphy also reached double-figures with 11. Amanda Hyde added nine points off of the bench, while Rachel Mauk added seven.
Rachel Mauk grabbed three steals and tied for the team lead with five rebounds, as Haluska also collected five caroms, and Rosado dished out a game-high four assists.
CLIMBING THE CONFERENCE LADDER...
On February 7, IPFW senior Anne Boese became the Summit League's all-time career leader in three-point field goals made, passing Brenna Doty of Buffalo, who finished her career with 262. Boese's record of 265 did not last long, as South Dakota State senior Jill Young passed Boese two days later, with a five-make effort on Monday, February 9, moving past Boese by one with 266. The record will likely change hands numerous times over the second half of the season, and after the dust settles, one of the two will hold the all-time mark.
QUICK HITTERS
• Against Western Illinois on January 7, IPFW senior Anne Boese became the Summit League's career leader in three-point field goals made, and now has 265 career three-point makes, two more than the previous record. Two days later, South Dakota State senior guard Jill Young passed Boese, and has 266 career three-point makes, and currently holds the career record.
• The 36 points scored by IPFW against Purdue on December 22 are the fewest scored in a game by the 'Dons since the squad was held to 28 at Indiana State on December 28, 2002.
• In other milestone watches, both Stephanie Rosado and Anne Boese have eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau this month. Rosado accomplished the feat against UMKC on December 3, while Boese did it against Valparaiso three days later.
• The Mastodons have made a three-point basket in 391 consecutive games, the fifth longest active streak in the NCAA.
• IPFW has used six different starting lineups this season, with only Rachel Mauk and Anne Boese starting all 16 games for the Mastodons.
